Knee Surgery

Greetings!

At long last, I have a scheduled date for my knee replacement surgery! It's Monday, August 18th, at Stanford University Hospital. Yes, all physicians involved have given their approval.
The same doctor, Stuart Goodman,M.D., PhD, who removed my infected knee last December will put in the new one. He is a nice man and a good doctor.
At first, my surgery date was to be September 26th. I asked to be notified in case a cancellation made an earlier date available. August 18th opened up and I quickly agreed!
By the time the surgery occurs, I will have been without a knee for nearly 8 months. 8 long months. It has been quite an odyssey. I find myself lamenting the time I have lost. I will use that loss as motivation to participate in life as much as possible.
The plan is for me to be at Stanford for 3 days or so. Where I go next depends on how I'm doing. I'd prefer returning home to Fresno to begin the recovery/rehabilitation phase.
